Since its inception in 2006, our annual event has raised $16 million for The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund.

Today, The Legacy Run is focused on fundraising for the Veterans & Children Foundation, which funds American Legion service officer training and provides grants for at-risk minor children of Legionnaires and active-duty military.

Thank you – and welcome to online registration for 2026 The American Legion Legacy Run. 2026 is a historic year – we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Legacy Run and America’s 250th birthday. Together, we ride to honor our nation’s legacy and strengthen hope for veterans, service members, and their families through The American Legion Veterans & Children Foundation (VCF).

This ride is more than miles. It’s a mission.

Why This Ride Matters

The Legacy Run supports The American Legion Veterans & Children Foundation (VCF) – a foundation of hope that steps in when a veteran, service member, or military family is on the edge. Your registration and fundraising help sustain support programs for veterans and children across the nation. When you register, commit to fundraising – and bring the mission with you.

Fundraising Challenge

Set a goal and start now. Even small actions add up when we do this together:

  • Choose a target: $250, $500, or $1,000 (or set your own).
  • Ask 10 friends to give $25.
  • Share your “why” on social media and post updates along the route.
  • Invite your Post, Chapter, District, or Department to sponsor a day of your ride.
  • Ask local business partners to match donations or sponsor your day.
  • Can’t make the national ride? Host an in-state Legacy Run or local fundraiser ride for VCF – then have your Post, Chapter, or Department present that donation on the national stage at National Convention.

Fundraising is how we win on the national stage – and how we honor the purpose behind the patch. Whether you raise $50 or $5,000, you are helping carry the mission forward.

Lodging is not included. Riders are responsible for booking and paying for their own lodging at each overnight stop.
